  1. I read about your project for photographing over 80s, but until there is a safe vaccine I wouldn’t suggest this is remotely safe. The over 80s are having to be shielded, long after the lifting of some of the lockdown. Sorry, now isn’t the time for this

  2. Re exceptional over 80’s, a friend of mine is a fitness instructor at 81. (although the virus has put a stop to our classes at the moment) Quite a way from you though – we’re in Thame, Oxfordshire. Contact is thamekeepfit@hotmail.com
    Good luck with the project

  3. Hi Laura. Ive just been sent a link to you by a friend of my mum. My mum is 85, has been a climber and mountaineer all her life and 2 weeks into lockdown suffered a stroke. Since her stroke one of her old friends Joe Brown died, followed by my Dad’s best mate who died of Covid. Two days ago her climbing partner and friend of over 60 years died with complications of diabetes. Still my mum soldiers on. We have been on regular walks despite losing her peripheral vision and other issues. She is bloody awesome. I would love to send you some pics. X

  4. Hi Laura, I read the BBC article about you proposed photo shoot for the over 80’s. I’d like to nominate my dad Andrew Currie. He’s 83 and still has 2 volunteer jobs. His first on is as fitness coach to elderly dementia sufferers at the local daycare centre. And his second (also at the same centre) is working with the Sporting Memories group helping people recall long forgotten memories from their past. Before starting on this section of his life, he was mum’s full time carer. She was diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2014, and he was there every step of the way. She passed away in Nov 2018 and to keep himself busy he took on these activities. He loves growing his veggies (if he can’t eat it he don’t grow it) in his back garden.
