  1. Hello Laura. People like me – I am 82 – ignore age. I went to art school at 32, a wife and mother in a class of 18 year olds and became an art teacher when I was thirty five. I went travelling for two years alone age 50. BBC 2 made a film about me called The Third Age in 1990. It might be in their archives. In 1990 50 was considered old. I did a post grad qualification for journalism at 52. My fellow students were 22. Observer Magazine bought one of my first pieces. A publisher commissioned my first book when I was 63. I met my 48 year old husband when I was 78. Friends from Sheffield came to our wedding. I loved Sheffield and wrote a piece about our visit. I am writing what may be my last book. After 50 years I am itching to return to painting.

    • Hi scribbling4bread (not sure your real name!). Yes! Brilliant! Many thanks for your message. Do you live in France all the time or in the UK some time by any chance? I can only photograph people in the UK at the moment. I’m currently reading through all messages and will be in touch with everyone when I’m in a position to proceed further with the project.

      Best wishes, Laura laura@laurapage.co.uk
