  1. Heard about your photography project, Mum and dad run two charity shops that they rescued from closure and now provide a high level of support for locals in a low income area Mum is 85 and dad is 83, they live in Brighton and their shops are in saltdean and peacehaven . Mum grew up in Brighton but dad is an East African Asian. They sent half their lives running a flying eye dr service in Kenya before returning to the uk, bringing my blind adopted sister who came originally from a nomadic tribe in northern Kenya.

  2. You are looking for remarkable people over 80. My husband Raymond is 81 and a brilliant self-taught musician. He plays the piano numerous times a day mostly from memory and still learns new pieces. He suffered a severe head injury 10 years ago and was not expected to live!

  3. Hi Laura
CONGRATULATIONS! So happy for you to have won this prize; exrraordinarily good news in a sea of (mostly) gloom and a delight to hear about your project focus at this time, when we are all rrrrrally feeling the love for the older generation.
I wondered if you might be interested in photographing my Dad in action? He’s 82 and for the last ooooohhhh 10 years? has become hooked on BMF training. (British Military Fitness Training). He goes religiously 2/3 times a week. He’s even doing it in lockdown, which is amusing as he has to do it in his tiny office as he’s baffled by the iPad set-up. His office is crammed with 20 year computer screens and hard drives and his Files of Important Stuff so he’s doing burpees in a space the size of a toilet cubicle. Anyway, please do let me know if you’d be interested in meeting up once this is all possible. My folks live in Springfield/Chelmsford, Essex. My Mum’s 83 and also has some interesting tales, having shipped over from Mozambique in the 60s but only does amateur ballet and I read you had ‘one of those’ in your collection already 😉
Huge congratulations once again. Please take good care and #staysafe and do drop me a line if you’d like any more intell before making a decision. Many thanks Loui
