  2. Dear Laura
I thought you might be interested in speaking to my mother who is 90 in September and still plays the cello, giving little concerts until she was forced to self isolate.
She trained at the Guildhall school of music and her history is interesting being related to the Huxleys.

  3. Congratulations Ms. Page on winning this award. Your work is outstanding. Too bad you are in England during this time of stress — my mom, Patricia Caruso, is 89, still independent, a retired public health nurse, who started a career over 40 after raising her two girls. She has worked in a prison for the mentally impaired (Son of Sam was one of the residents), has worked with paraplegics and quadriplegics, run baby clinics for inner city and rural community members, and up until summer of 2019, she was driving her 5-speed Mustang convertible to her summer home, 100 miles round trip. She is quite a mover and shaker. Keeping her home during a pandemic? Not on your life. Good luck with your project. These senior citizens are providing great inspiration for the young. COVID-19 is a threat, but I’m betting many of them beat it! Best to you. Christine

  4. This is an interesting project. So much funding and support is for young or ’emerging ‘artists. Nice that some oldies could get the recognition that age need not stop activity. I am a sculptor working in stone, wood, cast iron and bronze. 82 in age

  5. Hello Laura, My name is John Tasker and congratulations on your award. I have throughout my life always looked at older people as inspirational focal points. When I was 20 it would be that 40 year old. At 40 it was that 60 year old and now that I am 69 it is the 80 and over group. My abstract goal of emulating the positiveness that I saw in healthy older folks has worn off on me. I’m happy to say that I am healthy, wealthy (inside) and wiser for sticking to my connectivity with aging. I too am an artist. Different disciplines, but now do photography with the added edge of photoshop. I am thematic if I was to describe my train of thought. I think you would enjoy looking at #8 on my website. It is a pictorial and verbal commentary on homelessness in my community of Eugene, Oregon. There are older folks among the younger in the blogs. My website is http://www.johntasker.com and if you would like to leave a comment please do so at johntaskerart@gmail.com Have a terrific day and a happy life. Congratulations again, John Tasker….P.S. I look forward to viewing your final results on this exciting project!
